Census 2020 Timeline Changes

Census 2020 Timeline Changes

As discussed in the earlier blog post The Census is Coming!...What this means for College Students amidst COVID-19 pandemic, the impact of COVID-19 has been tremendous. Students are moving home, the ability for Census workers to go door to door or visit shelters and other areas where transient people gather to get counts has all been affected by the need to protect the health of our community and slow the spread of this new virus. Some have asked if the Census can even still happen effectively amidst all of these adjustments. The answer is yes! Find updated information about how the Census team is adapting to the year's events by visiting https://2020census.gov/en/news-events/operational-adjustments-covid-19.html which is updated as needed.

At OSU, for students in the dorms being counted for the Census, even though school went online, the students lived in Stillwater for the majority of the school year and would still be here except for the pandemic. They were counted earlier in the residence halls but counts are just being turned in now.
